Man Post Monday: Pattern Mixing
I get asked outfit and style questions from guys almost as much as I do from all the ladies! .
Sooo I figured why not start posting on menswear occasionally too!
Introducing "Man Post Mondays" featuring none other than my Man Crush.
(See what I did there?)
I decided to start off with pattern mixing. If done properly it can be one of the coolest things you can do to amplify your style.
Here's few tips to make sure you don't end up looking like a Dr. Seuss character..
1: The most important thing to remember is to make sure your patterns aren't the same size!
As long as you do this its hard to mess up!
Different patterns add dimension and making sure they are different sizes keeps your outfit balanced!
2: If you're new to the pattern mixing game try to use the same pattern. Example: Thick stripes with pin stripes, etc.
When you're feeling a bit more bold try mixing floral prints with stripes, or plaid with camo like we did here. I highly recommend mixing a pattern with camo at first since I consider it a neutral, its an easy way to mix your prints while still keeping it simple.
3: Color. Try and use colors in the same family at first until you get a feel for what works for you. Above we paired blue and green patterns together since they are both on the cooler side of the color spectrum..
At first its always a safe bet to use the same color, like navy and light blue.
When you feel a little more comfortable you can start using complimentary colors, but feel free to spice it up and use any colors that you feel look great together!
4: Equally as important as the first tip, Having Confidence!
No matter what patterns you end up mixing as long as you dig your outfit, that's what matters most.
When you think and feel like you look great, others will think so too.
We're not here to care about what other people think anyways, right?
I'm really excited to start doing Mens posts here and there, so if there is anything you guys wanna know or see, feel free to let me know!
